Oh, Christmas Tree!

What fun we had going to the nursery to pick out our Christmas Tree. Mommy and Daddy did all the hard work, but I had to give my seal of approval before the final decision was made.

Once we got home, it was naptime for me. But when I awoke, what was I to see: A beautiful tree standing in my living room! I couldn't wait to help Mommy and Daddy decorate the tree. (Click here to see video.)

I think the final result was amazing. Although I still don't understand why all the really sparkly ornaments are at the top of the tree!

Ho! Ho! Oh, No!

Listen, I realize that Mommy did everything in her power to prepare me for this visit to Santa, but there's just something about the guy in the red suit that doesn't sit well with me. I think this picture speaks for itself. Better luck next year, Mommy!

Weekend In New England

Boston, here we come! And with those words we began the trek to Beantown to celebrate Mimi's birthday! With my new Big Bird shirt on and a bag full of my favorite toys and books, off we went to the city where Daddy went to college.

Once we got there, we all unpacked our bags. Daddy tried to help me with my toys, but since I knew exactly where I wanted everything, I had to explain to him that it was a one-person job.

Did you know that they have sharks in Boston? I guess I'm the only one who knows about this well-kept secret. But after my trip to the aquarium with Poppy and Jack, I kept telling everyone how much I loved the penguins and that I saw a shark and "I gonna catch it!" I'm not sure why, but ever since, Mommy keeps saying that we're going to have to rethink our trip to the beach next summer.

Next up was our horse and buggy ride through the financial district! I don't really know what that means, but I do know that it was really cold. But I didn't mind. Daddy wrapped me in a couple of blankets, and we all braved the weather. My horse's name was Frankie, and boy was he beautiful!

My cousin Jack liked the horses, too. He couldn't resist wishing this one a Merry Christmas!

I loved spending time with my aunts and uncles. Here I am with Aunt 'Tine by the Christmas tree in the lobby of our hotel. I kept asking when I could unwrap all my presents, but for some reason everyone kept changing the subject!

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Here I am with all my cousins. Aren't they cute? Later on, they all came to our room to hang with me. Boy, did we have fun playing with the new Elefun game that Aunt Debbie and Uncle Brian gave me!

One last stroll through Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Daddy even bought me a cool new rubber duck covered in shamrocks!

Once we got back in the car, I settled in for the long ride with a good book. Or maybe I just settled in. Anyway, as I said to Mommy as she was putting me into my car seat: "I love Boston!"

Happy Bird-Day To Samantha!

Yup, that's right: Even on my second birthday, it's all about The Bird. I had such a great day. When I woke up this morning, Mommy and Daddy had a big surprise for me. Our whole living room had been transformed into Sesame Street, complete with Big Bird roller skating on the wall with Bert and Ernie! (I know! I couldn't believe it, either!)

There were so many balloons, I didn't know which one to look at first!

I wore a special birthday outfit, complete with birthday wings -- just like Abby Cadabby!

And Mommy put my hair up, just the way Daddy likes it!

The house was filled with the people I love, like Mimi and Poppy and Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt 'Tine and Jack, and Uncle Sal, Aunt Suzy and Jason and Karen and Paul!

And Mommy got me a special Sesame Street cake with all the characters on top!

It looked great and tasted even better!

Thank you, everybody, for making me feel so special!

Gobble! Gobble!

I had a great Turkey Day! This is the first time we've actually made it to Aunt Margie and Uncle Dick's house for Thanksgiving (it's a long story), and boy was it worth the trip! First, we had a fun car ride because Daddy gave me a new CD of Sesame Street Christmas music! We sang and danced (in our seats) all the way to Mimi and Poppy's house, where I got to hang out with everyone -- including their cat, Dolly!

Then we drove to Aunt Margie and Uncle Dick's house...

When we first got there, I was a little scared, but Aunt Margie gave me a Big Bird toy and all was right with the world. I had fun with all my cousins (and I even got some early birthday presents!). Then, I noticed that Aunt Margie had set up my very own table with a coloring book and Sesame Street Crayons! Well, that's all I needed to make my Thanksgiving complete!

Hap-Bee Halloween!

"Buzz. Buzz. Buzz." I had been practicing for weeks. And now the day had finally arrived: Halloween! As soon as I woke up from my nap, I asked Mommy to put on my costume. The red shoes didn't quite match, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from trick-or-treating!

Despite the gloomy sky, it turned out to be a great day. Daddy chauffeured me from house to house, and all my neighbors gave me candy!

Then when I got home, Grandma and Grandpa gave me some Halloween gifts. Lots of fun coloring books and sticker books. And new crayons! I couldn't wait to dive in, wings and all!

Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa for all the cool presents!

And thanks, Mommy and Daddy, for the delicious Elmo "cupcape!"

Why can't every day be Halloween?!!!!

There's Something In The Air!

I really didn't think I'd like this time of year once Mommy and Daddy told me that I couldn't play with my water table in the backyard any more, but there's something about the cooler weather that makes me happy. Maybe it's all the fun stuff I've been doing! First, we celebrated Daddy's birthday (no, I still didn't eat cake, but I sure loved the Sesame Street characters Grandma puts on all our birthday cakes!), then we went to Sesame Place where I met Elmo (we searched and searched, but never did find my best friend, Big Bird) and then we topped it all off with a trip to the pumpkin patch where I went on the hayride and picked out my very own pumpkin! Oh, and did I mention the apple cider donuts? Yes, I really do love this time of year! I hope you're enjoying it, too!

What A Weekend!

I had a great Labor Day Weekend! First, Mimi and Poppy came for a visit. They spent the whole day playing with me -- we played with my toys, Mimi swung on the swings with me (and later, Poppy pushed me really high) and we read lots of books! It was so much fun!

Then, I had an unexpected visitor. When I went to the store with Mommy the other day, I spotted the biggest Big Bird I had ever seen -- almost as big as the one on TV! Well, I wanted to bring him home with me, but Mommy said that he was too big to fit in the car, so she got me a cute little Grover instead.

The next day, when I woke up from my nap, guess who was waiting in my play yard for me? Giant Big Bird!!! I have never been happier than when I hugged Giant Big Bird. I kiss him more than I kiss Mommy and Daddy! But they don't mind. They know that I have a special relationship with the yellow guy. And at the end of the day, I'd rather hang out with Mommy and Daddy than anybody else.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and video from my best weekend yet!

Bye, Bye Britt!

I had so much fun the last couple of days because my cousin, Brittany, came to stay with us. Britt's leaving for college in less than a week, so we were so happy that she was able to come and play with us before taking off on her big adventure. We're so proud of everything Britt has done with her life so far. She's a terrific singer, she is a wonderful honor student and a caring person. We know she's going to have the time of her life in college. But we sure are going to miss her! Good luck, Britt! Can't wait to see you on your break!

Family Fun Day!

Boy, was I happy when my cousins, Jordan and Jacob, came to spend the day with me. We all played with my water table, went on the swings and even swam in my pool. Jacob and Jordan are really good at going down the slide! And their Mommy, Monique, even made these really cool Sesame Street cupcakes. Having cousins is great. I can't wait to spend the day with J&J again soon!

Food For Thought

I don't think I've mentioned it before, but I love food! The messier the better. The other day, I ran up to Mommy and asked for pizza, pepper-ma-roni and meatballs! Mom gave me the pizza and meatballs, but for some reason wouldn't let me have the pepper-ma-roni. That's okay, though. I'll work on her. She usually gives in sooner or later!

Happy Fourth Of July!

Although I didn't manage to stay up to see the fireworks, there was still plenty of fun to be had on the Fourth Of July when my friends Abby and Logan came over to hang out. I didn't mind sharing my toys at all, and watching Abby and Logan jump and climb sure gave me a lot of great ideas. (Mommy doesn't know what she's in for now!) Anyway, Daddy DVR'd the fireworks so that I could look at them another time. And I invited Abby and Logan to come back and play in my yard anytime they want. All in all, it was a great way to celebrate the holiday!

Splish Splash!

If the last few weeks are any indication, I'm really going to love summer! Mommy and Daddy have turned our backyard into a summer play land, complete with a water table, a picnic table and a slide! I love to spend time out there getting soaking wet and watering Mommy and Daddy's feet!

Last weekend, we went to visit Aunt 'Tine and Uncle Jim to celebrate Jack's birthday and Nick's graduation. Daddy took me in their pool, and I had a blast splashing and kicking. I can't wait to go back and visit!

I hope you enjoy all the fun pictures! And I have to give two special shout-outs: to Mimi and Poppy for the fun pinwheel, and Aunt Caren and Uncle Ron for the cool sunglasses. (I finally gave in and let Mommy put them on me the other day. I knew I'd like wearing them, but I just like to make her work for it every once in a while!)

People In Your Neighborhood

Grandma and I went over to my neighbor Abby's house yesterday. Despite how serious I look, I had a really great time! You see, I'm just not used to sharing with other people. But Abby is great, so I shared my toys with her. In addition to the fact that she has the same name as my doll, Abby Cadabby, she has an awesome backyard filled with great things to play with and a cute big brother named Logan. I hope I get to play with her more often now that the nicer weather is here. Maybe she can even come over to my house for a play date soon!

You Gotta Have Friends

There's nothing I love more than watching my Sesame Street DVDs. I love the songs, I love the dancing... but most of all, I love sharing it with my friends. Last night, Mommy changed me into my comfy jammies, and then I watched Sesame Street Karaoke with Big Bird, Lil' Abby, Big Abby and Daddy. I don't know who had more fun, my friends, my daddy or me!

Spring Is In The Hair!

The weather was so beautiful this weekend that Mommy and Daddy decided it was time to put my swing back up in our backyard. Boy, did I enjoy feeling the wind in my hair! Mommy tried to keep my luscious locks under control, but just like me, they have a mind of their own!

Riding In Style!

Am I a lucky girl or what? My Daddy got me this cool ATW wagon (not sure exactly what that means, but Mommy thinks it has something to do with the cool wheels). Then he customized it so that I'd have a comfy ride. On Sunday afternoon, we went all around our neighborhood, and I waved at all the people I saw. I love my new wagon. But I love my Daddy even more!

Hi! My name is Samantha Rose. I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so please bear with me. I love Sesame Street (especially Big Bird, Elmo and Abby), reading books and running around the house. If you want to follow my busy life, come and visit my blog from time to time.
